SCHOOLS

Schools are one of our favorite places to bring meaningful design to since they are the hub of children’s lives and learning for so many hours. What should be more important than having an engaging space that has the aesthetics and beauty purposed to the value of their time? From elementary school bathrooms, gyms and libraries, even playgrounds, middle school entries, stairwells, quotes and cafeterias, to high school sports medicine rooms, and more, school design not only uplifts the students, but teacher morale and all who enter!

Willard Middle School: Entry

“W.I.L.D. IMPACT”
Stairwell & entryway murals for Willard Middle School, Aldie, VA

This beautiful middle school knows the value of color and words to impact the space of their students, and the new walls of their very white building were the perfect canvas. The entryway received an engaging mural, over 180’ long with polymorphic “mountains” that fit the modern aesthetic and echo the Wildcat mountains of their logo. The Henry David Thoreau quote greets students coming in every morning: “All good things are wild and free.” Each of four main staircases also got painted murals that focus on a “Stay W.I.L.D.” trait that are a center point of the school for students to keep front of mind: W: Wonder I: Impact L: Lead D: Develop with visual depictions of these concepts to reinforce and brighten the space.
